Today in Parliament I asked the government to help crack down on property management companies who are charging unfair and expensive fees to residents. In 2025, I heard from more than 650 residents with complaints about their property management agencies.

Great to see that a proper tax on online gambling has been included in the budget today. The Treasury Select Committee’s recent report proposed this as a way to encourage people to spend less time gambling on predatory slot algorithms, while also raising revenue. (1/2)

We in Reading are proud of the many immigrant diasporas who have enriched our town’s economy and culture. Many immigrant families in Reading, such as Hong Kong BNO citizens, have asked me about the government’s future plans concerning indefinite leave to remain.

Despite how often the country argues about tax, there’s actually a strong cross-party consensus that the UK’s long and outdated tax code is in much need of improvement – and there’s even agreement about what some changes could do to simplify tax and improve growth.

Today, we join in silence to honour those who sacrificed everything for our country and our rights. We must never take the freedoms that we enjoy today for granted.
