There are people out there who think it's ridiculous to say that killing 100,000 Palestinians and expelling 100,000s more from their land is a genocide, but that describing people coming to your country to work and start a family as genocide is totally reasonable.

I don’t think Trump and his people are capable of engineering “distractions,” I think the mind-numbing chaos we see every day is straightforwardly the result of giving the dumbest, cruelest, most corrupt, most selfish people of a generation near-unmitigated power

Twitter has completely lobotomized the entirety of the centrist pundit class. We've been having "debate" for decades. What's changed is how a money backed hate movement weaponized the debate much as anti-vaxx and climate denial groups do with media all too happy to both sides it.

Toss up for my favourite line between "it is signally tin-eared to be sticking doggedly to the line 'Vote Green, get Reform' on the morning after an election in which the people who voted Green got Green." and "Starmerism is now so unpopular that even Keir Starmer no longer supports it."

Interesting historical comparisons from Gorsuch in the marijuana argument, making the point that smoking every other day wouldn't cut it in the founding era: "The American Temperance Society back in the day said that 8 shots of whiskey a day only made you an *occasional* drunkard..."
