I met with the Seattle Mayor, King County Executive, and a coalition of labor, faith, and immigrant rights groups to strategize on how we can all defend our community from ICE. We’re standing together and staying coordinated to protect our community from Trump’s attacks.

Washington state leads in holding the Trump Administration accountable because we work hard to anticipate what will happen. We're preparing for a range of actions by ICE and the federal government.

Today, Attorney General Nick Brown and I signed a letter to Secretary Kristi Noem. We urge her to withdraw ICE agents from the state of Minnesota immediately, for the safety of all.

Yesterday, I met with Maj. Gen. Gent Welsh of the Washington National Guard. We had a good conversation about what's going on in Minnesota and to talk through different scenarios. Bringing up our National Guard is one tool we have to protect Washingtonians if necessary.

I appreciate the Legislature moving quickly on a bill to prohibit law enforcement from wearing masks. These ICE agents don't have the guts to show their faces.
