The sudden change to forward-funding at NIH was a choice. The decreased number of awards made this year was a choice. It will break - has broken - many science labs in all 50 states. These kind of major policy shifts at NIH should be the product of engagement with Congress and the sci community.

Good news: The Trump administration has agreed to partially fund SNAP benefits. Bad news: They refused to use additional sources of funding that could provide full payments to SNAP beneficiaries in November.

Reminder, do not only work on #NIHGrant study section reviews with the online forms. Keep a document with your critiques. Cancelled meetings are removed from IAR view and potentially are unrecoverably scrubbed.

For those who are wondering about grant proposal reviews in the USA

These study sections are planned to be rescheduled, not cancelled, just like our spring rescheduling. In the latter case, roster membership was honored for continuing submission and 2 week extensions. I would assume the same rules would apply in this case as well.

can confirm that there will be an automated email the evening before study section is supposed to meet. Got my email last night around 7:30pm for SS that was supposed to start today.
