Minimum wage in New Mexico is $12/hour, or $24,960 per year. The USLPA is asking for a contract minimum of $43,400 (roughly $21/hour). The USL has offered $38K ($18/hour). That’s $6 bucks more than New Mexico minimum wage. Six. And no mandated health insurance. But, hey, pro/rel!

Just gonna piggyback here. Minimum wage for California is $16.50/hr. USL isn’t even $2 above minimum wage in California with their proposal. And that’s with two months going unpaid and no mandated health insurance FOR A PROFESSION WHERE YOU ARE PUTTING YOUR BODY ON THE LINE.

You have to be able to distinguish between "we are going to disagree about policy on some level and still work together" and "we cannot work together because our views are misaligned" and I am firmly in the camp of not working with people who will ever vote for concentration camp funding.

Remember that the USL is centrally owned and that the teams are separate franchises that pay to play in the league. The league pockets those fees with very little if any revenue sharing with the existing teams. It’s in the leagues INTEREST to get more teams to join and not REALLY care if they fold.
