What I like about the Clone Wars show, along with the great voice cast, is that they gave the background Jedi characters and clone troopers actual personalities, and they would devote whole arcs to exploring different worlds like Mon Calamari. It really fleshed out Star Wars lore.

I swear I've seen at least a dozen different fan arts of Kit on my timeline this weekend and would not be shocked at all if she becomes the internet's next big breakout indie character like Pomni, Loona, and Charlie. So I'm hopeful Glitch picks up Gameoverse.

I just don't understand what the appeal of staying on Twitter is when the algorithm punishes anyone who isn't a Nazi and you're surrounded by the worst people on the internet. You do you, but am I glad I stopped going there.

I think that some nerds and other terminally online losers simply love the idea of being fans of something niche or independent. They want their fandom to be successful, yet will turn on it the second it becomes popular because they can’t stand the thought of liking something mainstream.

I have no desire to travel to America for a very long time. The POTUS has been threatening my country and there's a non-zero chance that innocent tourists will be arrested by government goons for no reason. That's enough for me to avoid travel to the US.

It's honestly just sad whenever a studio or a dev goes all in on AI slop and completely throws away their reputation for slop they know, or at least should know, that most people don't want near their art and entertainment. It's like NFTs, but even more pathetic.

Why do so many streaming shows look so dark and grey to the point where you can barely see the characters?

As someone who makes occasional typos, I still think an edit feature would be a good idea so long as it can be implemented without being abused. Otherwise, you can just delete the post and post the corrected version a few seconds later.

Pop culture discourse on social media is so exhausting and needlessly toxic, but more than anything else, it’s just so incredibly dumb now.

I get the feeling that opposing data centers will be a very popular position for politicians to run on, and I'm just going to assume that the ones who support them are taking bribes from shitty tech companies.

Conservatives really can't enjoy and they did this entirely to themselves. Look at how they're crashing out over The Odyssey because a beautiful Black woman is in it. They care more about their bigotry and culture war grift than enjoying anything.

Forums were much less toxic than social media. I miss that.   I think that’s because you had forums for more niche topics, and if the mods were competent, trolls and Nazis would actually be banned. People went to the forums because they loved talking about that thing, not hating everything.

AI shit is why I'm in no rush to replace my 5 year old PC or my 5 year old phone. I don't trust any new tech not to be flooded with AI garbage on it that will also probably spy on me. As long as my old tech works, then I'm good with it.

The NES. I began to play as soon as I was old enough to pick up the controller and figure out that pressing the buttons made Mario move. Think I was maybe two years old at the time, so around 1990 (yes, I'm old). The GameBoy Color was the first console I owned myself.

The #Gameoverse pilot was really damn good and I'd recommend it. There is clearly a love for video games in this show (especially from the 16 bit and N64 eras), the characters are fun, the voice cast is great, and I'd recognize Grant Kirkhope's music anywhere.

It increasingly feels like film nerds and the animation community spend more time on social media complaining about film and animation than they do actually watching and appreciating it. This is especially true for gaming.

Two of the best things I've done for my mental health recently is leave Twitter, and the other one is be unapologetic about blocking people and limiting replies. Why should I care if some terminally online loser gets mad they can't reply to me? That's a them problem.

Getting mad that a person of color is cast in something or that non-white characters exist is simply another sign of racism, especially if it is coming from someone who already has a history of racism and bigotry.

There's a big difference between the current state of the world upsetting you (as it should) and deliberately choosing to be miserable 24/7 while making other people miserable along with you.

Bluesky still desperately needs basic features like protected accounts, polls, and an edit feature. But I honestly think one thing it needs the most is Community Notes because some people here love to spread disinformation for clout, hatedoms, or to scare people.

Watched The Punisher: One Last Kill. Even though it gave off "Die Hard in an apartment building" vibes (complimentary), it was still quite fun and it was nice to see Frank find purpose in saving people over revenge.

This frame of Krusty's bewilderment and confusion after seeing Worker & Parasite, and his delivery of "what the hell was that?", is low key one of the funniest still frames and line deliveries in Simpsons history and has lived rent free in my mind ever since.

Saying it again - like and dislike whatever you want. Just don't be a toxic asshole or a miserable killjoy about it.
