My most lukewarm take is that `derive(serde::Deserialize)` should fail at compile time if all of your struct's fields aren't `pub`. 1. It would keep me from forgetting this all the time when I go to make a type in another crate and it's private 2. I think this would surprise (some) people why.

I worry that having a separate QA engineer (or QA team) is a moral hazard. SWEs won't test their code as thoroughly, or worry about code quality, if they're not the ones responsible for finding bugs. Proving the code is correct should be the responsibility of whoever wrote it.

Learning about @oxide.computer's Hubris RTOS has been an incredible exercise in how different systems can be. In some sense, it has essentially made the polar opposite choice to everything I've done with embassy, async, and ergot over the past 3-5 years. Neither are *wrong*, they're just different.

For modern LEDs, for indoor signaling (or bare PCB) use, from 5v0 rails, you should be a lot closer to 10k-50k than 100-500 ohms, no kidding. Jellybean LEDs are *crazy* efficient now, 10-15mA is like a spotlight, and 1mA is still uncomfortable.

probe-rs, rtt, and defmt will seriously spoil you. Semihosting is awfully slow in comparison. Rust will spoil you.

18 weeks into the year: on track. Not too much new to report, it's just going! A year is a long time to pay attention to something every day. Down a total of 10.6kg/23lbs, and 37.3% done. Exercise was down then up: it got cold outside, I got a cold, then it got warm and started doing long rides :D

I got a cheap stretchy knit nylon watch band for my old citizen watch to try it out for when my pebble time gets here, and it's super comfy. I've never really liked the silicone sport-watch style bands, and I've never found a band with a belt-buckle style clasp that wasn't too tight or too loose.

Had to wipe my PC anyway, so giving Zed a try over my longstanding SublimeText install. Overall seems just as quick (big reason I never got into vscode), and it looks nice! R-A works out of the box. Any specific plugins or settings or features I should check out for Rust dev specifically?
