I've been going for lots of walks around Cambridge, and it's nice to stop at a cafe for a snack while out and about – but it sucks that a drink + pastry is now $10-15. If only there was some way to buy food in bulk and cache it at convenient locations around town in advance...

This is one of the best games of all time. While out on a walk – after playing for a few hours – the pieces for how it was going to end suddenly clicked together in my mind. It felt like getting hit by a 2x4 (complimentary).

This is wild:

If you've got limited time, the section on textures is particularly cool: it's a friendly GUI that emits a bytecode DSL for image operations! Most demos lean hard into Procedural All The Things!, so it's neat to see tools for hand-authoring assets.

If you'll allow me a little essay-posting on this Tuesday morning— Lots of people are saying that Peter Watts predicted our present situation, but I'd argue that R. Scott Bakker is the unsung prophet of the modern day.

chatgpt is gaslighting me here, right? there's no way that a function declared with 'extern "sysv64"' must *also* obey the Windows calling convention for which registers are volatile – that would make it useless for writing cross-platform assembly!
