I hope people can become familiar with the concept of not putting all faith into a single service/platform again. It was ten years ago that Skype became inconvenient so people switched from using it. Even further back people manually opted to download and use other browsers than Internet Explorer.

Alright, you already know how this goes. Cancel Nitro, remind them why this is unsafe if you can, and keep alternatives on the back-burner while accepting that they may be downgraded experiences. Above all though, do not throw your account away until you feel the service becomes actually unusable

Infinite Painter's timelapse tool is extremely convenient, but man I wish there was an option to add a "flashing lights" warning at the start of the finished video because *wow*. For context, anytime you use a select tool, the whole screen gets darker except for your selected region.

To add to this, I don't know why people don't understand that genAI is following the same playbook as tech in the 2010s - disrupt the market and labor with low costs, then when you have market share, charge more. It will never be cheaper than even an iPad. You are renting a service you can't keep.

Nostalgia is used to romanticize times that have been anywhere from bad to downright horrific for a lot of people, and weaponized to rob us of the progress we've made and could make, all because you miss playing Game Boy in a time when you didn't have the capacity to understand the world around you.

Nostalgia is a deadly drug. No needle ruins more lives, no pill is more intoxicating. Indulge too much and you'll be falling to your knees and wailing, "Please give me another hit, make me great again, I'll do anything." This weakness creates monsters.

Every instance of "AI democratizes the arts, you're classist and ableist and a gatekeeper for trying to stop it" is a slap in the face to the literally centuries of poor, disabled people making art on the margins and a crass lie in service of a machine that strips down and regurgitates dreams

I feel bummed for the devs in a partner showcase. It’s supposed to be a positive thing, getting to show your hard work in a Nintendo backed presentation. But since it’s a direct with no first party anything, it’s seen as 30 straight minutes of the boring parts between Mario and Zelda announcements.

Can more companies start being upfront about the fact that digital purchases mean buying a license and not ownership? Why is Super Bomberman Collection of all games one of the only few examples I've seen of this?

Not even joking when I say today's Partner Showcase (and even the fact that it even was a Partner Showcase at all) is a sign that the industry is actually running out of games.
