This is a pretty good illustration of how to talk about the "Jewishness" of Epstein and some of his network. It's important to do this because antisemitism thrives on the claim that you "aren't allowed" to talk about when Jews in powerful positions commit crimes. Room to go deeper on gender, tho.

I don't think we can shy away from the very real and widespread perception that Epstein was surrounded by other wealthy, powerful Jews. Antisemites have their account of why this is, and everyone can see the basic facts. My piece was an attempt to engage that reality forthrightly and with nuance.

Gaby del Valle is one of the best reporters I know and the attacks against her on here are not only shocking in their violence and bigotry but also incredibly bad-faith and utterly without merit.

It's wild how much Bluesky fundamentally hates journalism. Like, yes journalism right now has plenty of issues. (Ask any journalist about it! We love to bitch about journalism!) But on here the entire premise of "reporting" is reviled by people who think they're doing 'Spotlight' whenever they post.

Gaby Del Valle is a great journalist with righteous politics, and the way this website is treating her for her completely fair reporting on Minneapolis is the reason why it's constantly hemorrhaging users, will never be relevant, and is seen as a joke across progressive media and activist circles.

Bari Weiss attended a fundraiser last night in NYC, attendee tells me. There was an auction item for dinner with her and wife Nellie Bowles. Several people cheered in approval, many others said after how gross it was. Bari shouted out “And you can make out with Nellie!” It ultimately sold for $55k.
