Yesterday’s court decision invalidated the President’s illegal executive order eliminating funding for public broadcasting. Awesome win. But while that case was in court, Congress eliminated funding and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting closed forever. Public media is still in crisis.

I watched all but the first seconds of that. Honestly any press person on truth serum would have to say that’s a speech he shouldn’t have given. It was terrible. A bunch of incoherent nonsense. They’ve decided to leave Iran in control of the strait. Iran war, not nearly as long as ww2. lol. Fail.

I joke but interacting with LLMs really fucks with my head and I hate every bit of the expectation that the one useful thing that people working with computers can do is plug loads of energy into talking to a chat bot about their job instead of doing their job.

Risking full blown teleology here but the point of humans is not productivity. The point of human beings is whatever we make of it collectively, depending on your faith or philosophy but it isn't productivity.

Honestly they should double the gas tax, then have a new yearly per-vehicle weight tax that scales exponentially by curb weight with no “business” exemptions. That should do a good job eradicating these obese and inefficient pickup trucks and SUV that are dangerous to everyone else on the road.
