Barbara Smith said, “Expectedly, the right wing is repulsed by identity politics… What is more disturbing is that a lot of people on the left also attack identity politics and are similarly unaware of the source of the term or what anticapitalist Black women actually meant by it.”

This is so foundational to our human interactions that they teach kids about how sharing and ownership work in kindergarten and earlier. All the AI boom folks are lacking in the social basics even four-year-olds have a better grasp of.

I see the “technically it’s ephebophelia” crowd is out today, so just a reminder that A) this is NOT a case where technically correct is the best kind of correct and B) the minute you say this, the gods dump you in the “irredeemable creeper” basket and wash their hands thoroughly after touching you.

As all this disgusting Epstein shit starts surfacing more and more, I hope we don't lose sight of the fact that apparently every major media outlet knew everything and instead spent their time money and energy attacking the trans community.

My granny never got over the First World War. She lost so many relatives, neighbours, school mates. She shared stories of the trenches to me and my sister. I write about her, Canada's "100 Days" and the staggering price we paid to end the First World War.

The far right radicalization of young men is a serious issue. Fanning male rage was a big part of the MAGA movement and is part of the game plan on the Polievre Conservatives. In my latest piece I discuss the toxic impacts on schools and democracy.

Was there any scientific basis to potions, lotions and salves that folk healers prescribed, or was it all just hocus pocus?

The obvious corollary to all of this is that it is utterly pointless for Canada to negotiate *anything* with Trump. This includes the USMCA. The sooner Mark Carney acknowledges this, the sooner Canada can get to the business of addressing the US threat in a realistic manner.
