Now they're doing what we call "trace forward" in the food biz. "Now that we have a suspect [lettuce from X farm].....where ELSE did that lettuce go?" In other words, a whole lot of companies were probably serving that lettuce! Taco Bell just had a good tracking program, so they found it first!

A quick word on Taco Bell: That's where we found the suspected lettuce, and it's not bc Taco Bell is gross. It's bc Taco Bell is REALLY GOOD at tracing product! Keeping track of exactly where they got their ingredients, & exactly what restaurants each shipment of ingredients went to!

The more I see this kind of stuff, the more angry all the "don't worry, Trump can't steal the midterms" posts make me. Elections in the US are very often close. You don't have to do a lot of fuckery around the margins to make a big difference.

So weird how many times spousal abuse is an indicator of even deeper problems that erupt later. If only we could take spousal abuse more seriously as a society. But of course we can't. Sorry, no. Why? Reasons.

Thereās a pattern here. When earlier periods of skilled practice are treated as more fully human, the social order that produced them can easily appear better than what replaced it. The past, then, seems superior to the present.

Get rid of your imposter syndrome (which tends to afflict smart people more than dumb people anyway). NO ONE is a "real expert." You have every right to be there. And you can make an enormous difference if you're in the room at the right time. Get involved. Participate. You can matter.

Dear Democratic politicians, Lindsey Graham deliberately chose to spend his last years making the lives of people in the US and abroad as miserable as possible. The fact that he also had that certain brand of charming southern geniality for his colleagues makes it worse, actually.

It's pleasant to assume an afterlife, and moreso, an indulgent diety that permits even wayward and debased creatures to tred upon its better acreage. By doing so, we can right now imagine Lindsey Graham meeting John McCain and with one look from his old friend knowing he had covered himself in shit.
