And maybe if the connection ports were different for different body parts. Would it be more restricting? Yes. More expensive and time consuming to produce? Maybe. But at least you wouldn't be able to create such horrors as these.

As I was watching this incredible three-plus hour conclusion, I notice a lot of history repeating. Same scenarios, same bad decisions, even some of the same players. So, yeah, pay attention. There'll be a test later on. Okay, no test, but do pay attention and learn from them.

And for all the fancy snap-together systems that have been tried (and probably are great for certain use cases), for most things all you need is to decide on peg/hole dimensions, and if necessary the spacing intervals for multi-point connections. Simpler than lego.

But you'll have a hell of a time convincing American toy companies to do anything that even has a consistent internal standard much less any kind of broader intercompatibility thing instead of a walled garden. Corpos hate the idea of play that mixes brand identities but kids dgaf about that.

It's shown up to some extent in G.I. Joe, Starriors, Transformers (and even more so in Diaclone, especially the GK scene), Matchbox, TMNT, DC superhero figures, plamo, bionicle, etc. Modular connectors. Esp. for sci-fi gubbins (stuff more distinct in form than greeblies) Plamo is doing it best atm

There's a toy concept that has proven itself time and again across multiple generations of kids but you only see it half-implemented because it only Makes Money instead of Makes All The Money, doesn't primarily appeal to collectors, and doesn't appeal to executives who just want a cheap IP tie-in.

Fuck it, I'll add PS1 97-98 to that one, because those early PS1 games are "the 16 bit games but better graphics" And I mean that literally - after an attempt to make a fancy PS1 version based on the 3DO port crashed and burned, they just made a new one with the Genesis version as a base

I mean it when I say the Goof Troop episodes animated by Disney Australia are the best. They employ a fast-paced style animation with some hilariously grotesque facial expressions that elevate the humor. It's almost too good for TV of this era.

There are three football games I will invariably go back to: - 2K5 - Tecmo Super Bowl - 16 bit Madden (I'm partial to SNES 96 because that was the one I grew up, but you can't go wrong with Genesis 93-96 or SNES 94-96)

Like, the year after 2K went away Madden immediately - and I mean IMMEDIATELY - shit the bed so hard that the current series, THREE CONSOLE GENERATIONS LATER, is way less fun to play than what is now a 22 year old PlayStation 2 game And that is *pathetic*

In conclusion, Warner Bros.-Seven Arts only knew how to make three cartoons: 1. Generic chase cartoons 2. Cartoons where are protagonist travels from setpiece to setpiece and is ultimately secondary to the overall plot 3. Cartoons that already exist

I think I understand the reason why these daffy and speedy cartoons came into existence as Porky and Bugs were being retired, Speedy is a B-list that has the personality to play both of those roles, acting as a rival like Bugs and a co-star like Porky with its own spin
