Never watched the reboot but the 90s show was feminist. Slappy and Dot destroyed anyone that looked down on them; while sexy characters like Minerva Mink updated the Avery standard of someone who was sexy but capable; even Hello Nurse was meant to be a genius stuck as an object she bore with.

What Mckimson was doing with the character as his personality shifted in the 50s, was like a proper evolution of being both a prankster and a jerk and I do wish this could be the standard

Remember when Animaniacs 2020 prided itself on being feminist yet had less female characters, mostly men writers room and had writing decisons that are ironically more misogynistic than a show produced in the 90s lol.

On April 19, 1930, Hugh Harman and Rudolf Ising introduced moviegoers with a new series of Vitaphone sound cartoons,

On April 19, 1930, Warner Bros. started a series of animated shorts inspired by Walt Disneyβs Silly Symphonies, and it resulted in the creation of the greatest group of cartoon characters ever created in the history of the world! The Looney Tunes!

All the other tunes, have a childish sensibility to them Foghorn always felt like the only adult that's not a human And that does give his cartoons a distinct feeling because they are dealing with adult problems

Foghorn Leghorn has to be one of those characters that feel richer to me when you get older, I never got the humor as a kid but as a adult he's easily up there as one of the best looney tunes characters period

My interest in Hexed, hinges on how they explore magic and how it ties into its themes that's the aspect the visuals will succeed in the most (Disney + Magic) is a easy homerun I could forgive the generic designs if the magic world looks amazing, we get a good story out of it

Do you think back in the 60s, audiences viewed the looney tunes watching television as the "Homer get Ipad" of its time?

another thing about both these cartoons that no one ever talk about is that both these cartoons have really good layout backgrounds, both have such a dark atmosphere , but I think Transylvania 6-5000 shines best in this because of the backgrounds by Maurice Noble

unintentionally watching these two cartoons a day apart from each other, and it's so interesting how different they are despite sharing the same premise It's a good demonstration of how Animaniacs and Looney Tunes are written.

The seven arts era makes me sad, because it could've been a new period where WB could make weird, experimental shorts in a time where that creativity was getting snuffed out. Instead of the slop we got, makes me wonder what could've been if Jones didn't get ousted

This almost feels like a tech demo of abstract art and sound effects whilst mixing in a good amount of humour into it. Chuck was confused about how he directed it and I think you feel that confusion watching it, but at the same time, you do somewhat admire its bizarreness if you watch it in full.

Changing this from a mother/son story to a mother/daughter story now makes me even more doubtful that Disney execs cancelled Be Fri, "because of girl power." In any case, what's been revealed of the plot has me intrigued.

The reuse of the "Drink up!" animation where you can tell they just traced over the original & not fill the gap where the table is supposed to be is just the worst.

It's very depressing to think about, because Mckimson was one of the people that molded the character in the first place he should understand Daffy's character out of anyone But you can tell he was burned out making these DePatie Freleng shorts, his heart just wasn't in it anymore

One theory why I think it's taking so long for Tiny Toons Adventures streaming on Tubi, is liscencing issues related to song rights if I recall TTA had a fair share of episodes that would play actual liscenced music I imagine this makes streaming on a free platform like Tubi a legal nightmare

Even that wasn't perfect the Warners were still written too weak, and that odd sense of loathing they shared (which even I wasn't a fan of these three always loved each other fighting is so ooc)

The Warners aren't the type of characters to care about being woke or whatever because they are CLOWNS, they only want to make people laugh They were written to be so self-conscious in a way they weren't meant to be was it to make them more relatable? I'll never know honestly
