I wish we got more people like Greg Ford in charge of the looney tunes franchise, the satire in his shorts Blooper Bunny (1991), Invasion of the Bunny-Snatchers (1992) still holds up Its especially funny he was doing this before Space Jam, which pretty much internalized everything he was against

of all the post-golden age attempts produced during this time Carrotblanca feels the most strong visually something about it clears what the late Jones was making even! Shawn Keller's take on the characters is just so charming, the direction certainly feels the most cinematic here in this short

The financial decline of the Mario movies will likely start when they increasingly will have to resort to Glup Shittos as the main reference selling points. Then, the movies will start needing to be legit good to keep audiences returning. 3/3

Next, a 2012 drawing. Conrad the Cat! He appeared in three Looney Tunes shorts (each one from 1942), but then he quickly faded out. I swear, I'm the only one that likes him. Okay, he's clearly no Bugs or Wile E, but I still enjoyed his appearances well enough. π€·ββοΈ

It reminds me of the transformers films and how each entry kept dropping in quality as the studio continued to milk it and audience approval dissipated to the point the latest have been all commercial failures That shit could lowkey happen to these mario movies π

I only like to be critical, anyone is critical about the mario movie franchise because they know how much money they make, Nintendo's commitment They aren't going away for anytime soon, they should actually IMPROVE its not sustainable continuing to ignore criticism IMO

Simpsons will make sense of its absurdity, often has a point that's not the case with spongebob its absurdity IS the point so it leaves analyzing these episodes challenging for Jim's to approach it the way he would with the simpsons.

Anytime the realthejims makes a video on SpongeBob, it's really funny seeing him approach it from the perspective of never watched a episode in his life He's constantly trying to make sense of the absurdity of the show exists to just be absurdity unlike the simpsons lol

On the opposite spectrum, I'm a fan of this, and I wish Chuck Jones learnt something from this. Here, the skunk tries various ways to find love without repeating the same one-dimensional formula you see in PepΓ©. This is a lot funnier than his shorts. Cartoon: "Little 'Tinker" (1948, Tex Avery)

Back in 2024, Daffy Season was teased as a 'Super Secret Looney Tunes Project. Also in 2024 we didn't believe anything anyone at WB said about Looney Tunes projects. Turns out patience is indeed a virtue cause it's coming to Annecy and coming to theaters!

I'm hoping when WB reveals the upcoming looney tunes movie, they don't try to make a cinematic universe with looney tunes like showing they learned nothing from Scoob. like just make a good story that gets the humor, characters that's all I want!

Something about how the mario movies are done, it's like there constructed for virality made to be clippable but with so little substance to carry it Like it's better watching those standalone clips than sitting through the actual films if you get me

While there is the elephant in the room (Skydance), I must say, I dig the designs, especially the humans like Raymond Gunn. They look nothing like the humans from Birdβs Incredibles and Ratatouille, or Skydanceβs previous projects. A 2D film wouldβve been cool, but I like this.

Those last two points are very important to me in what differentiates the classics from the new stuff is the pacing A lot of LTC goes by too quickly, its like they are just rushing to the next gag instead of having a natural flow because the cartoons are shorter now.

going back to this, being referential isn't a issue but there is a point where it gets derivative it makes you want to just watch the classics instead I don't hate LTC, it's competence can helps it's best episodes, but just wish there could be spent more time allow its own spin the classic formula

LTC rarely felt interested in doing something that ties something unique like Little Go Beep. For instance, it's what hindered the show from having the fun of the golden age

Will always admire Looney Tunes Cartoons for its effort, but there's no better way to explain why it's not easy to recreate the magic of the original shorts at best it was a good homage made for the fans and at worst a poor imitation riddled with the faults of modern cartoons very 50/50 show

TW// ABUSE, SA Do be aware that the creator of Vac Woman, Andrew Dickman, known online as AWD, has a history of misconduct towards others that he's made efforts to cover up. While much of this occurred years ago, I do encourage you to read over the posts below, if only to be informed of his history

Not to put too fine of a point on it, the man who designed Vac Woman (design K) was outted as a rapist and overall vile person about 10 years ago, yet he somehow managed to come out of it relatively unscathed as a successful artist.

Every mario movie will began with a very solid first act and the rest of the movie is a complete nosedive in quality I'll have to accept that these are movies riddled with executive meddling from a production standpoint despite the passionate crew. The producers ruin everything in post

i will say as someone who has seen more illumination movies than the average adult should; the problems with the mario movie are kinda sweeping problems with the whole studio LOL. Despicable Me 4 unironically has like, an F-Plot there's like 8 storylines
