Good news: I drew a sketchbook piece of Power Girl that I was really happy with. Bad news: the cover was opened and resting on a crumb from an onion ring so now my sketchbook is grease stained.

Wholesomeness is my rebellion.

For me, How Chee! My buddy the great @craigsilliphant.bsky.social made a documentary about a beloved late night tv commercial that has lived on through VHS and the internet. I got to draw the poster, and it was super fun to work on. Everyone should go see this film!

So passes the greatest living actor (in my opinion). Robert Duvall was never anything but authentic in every role. So many of his great performances (Gus McRae in Lonesome Dove, Mac Sledge in Tender Mercies, The Apostle EF in The Apostle) were family favourites. May he rest in peace.

Looking at old paintings by the great commercial illustrators (Buell, Moran, Petty, Sundblom, Ballantyne, etc ) and I think what sets Elvgren apart, and why his profile remains so large isn't necessarily the skill with paint, or the poses--it's how beautiful his faces are.

My wife handed me a clean towel and asked me to “put it in its place.” So, I looked at it and said, “Don’t forget that you’re only a towel,” and I was reminded yet again of just how lucky this woman was to be married to me.

In hindsight, it was a mistake to bring my family to Murder Island

Our artist group was permitted to create pieces reflecting the Advent story. They are on display in Common Ground at Circle Drive Alliance Church through Christmas. Since it has stayed pretty quiet, I hope those at Circle will stop by and take in the work the artists put so much care into.

Once a week at my office they listen to Country music, and for me it almost rises to the level of torture. That awful twangy reimagining of Rebel, Rebel should be on trial at the Hague.

There is no section of the internet as blissfully and cruelly entitled as the comments below a comic convention announcement, of any kind.

I realize halloween is over but I just want to say "trunk ot treat" is stupid and a bad idea and this has nothing to do with the neighborhood teens locking me in my trunk.

At least this keeps happening to other people and not just me all the time.

Sometimes my kids practice piano and guitar at the same time in different rooms both audible from my bedroom, and to me it sounds like jazz. But the kind of jazz they played on that show Homeland, in that it sounds irritating and dissonant.

Legitimately one of the best days of my life.
