City Hall has issued a high pollution alert for London due to air pollution from mainland Europe. I urge Londoners to look after themselves and protect those with conditions such as asthma. This includes refraining from engine idling and burning wood or garden waste.

By me: Cycle paths are pointless if women don't feel safe using them at night. If you want to give people the choice to cycle, there need to be good options for everyone (note: I had the headline amended as research shows almost a quarter of routes are deemed socially unsafe after dark, not half)

Air pollution has dropped significantly in #Paris in the last 15 years. Mayor @annehidalgo.bsky.social’s leadership has traded car space for green space, safe bike space, kid space.. and traded pollution for people. Good trade.

On a drive out of Dulwich, it doesn't matter if the speed limit is 20, 30 or 40, you will still see dangerous drivers who ignore the speed limit. But 20mph limits reduce crashes and reduce insurance premiums for drivers.

CPZ are an effective way of reducing trips by car. This street in Dulwich is a weekday CPZ. At the weekend it's full of cars, including in coach bays (meaning coaches dangerously parked on DYL). All parking should be chargeable, all the time.
