Among many other things, Avi Lewis denounced the genocide in Gaza at least twice and denounced GenAI at least 3 times during his first speech as leader of the NDP.

I think the direction for the party at this point is more important than the person leading it, although obviously they are connected. But I think no matter who leads it there's nowhere for the NDP to be if they are not unapologetically progressive rather than trying to cuddle up to the centre.

Universal Basic Income works. It works extremely well because what people need is cash, trust, and dignity, not paternalistic bureaucratic hoops to jump through to exist. And yes we can afford it because the lack of it is very costly. UBI should be seen as an investment with a large expected return.

So, I see the discourse about number of episodes has come around again, and maybe it’s growing up a Brit, but… I’ve never minded the 10 episode series. But the downsides of the 22-24 episode seasons to actor lives? Especially women—I think about the stuff I’ve read about Trek women giving birth.

We live near a school, and I don’t really have a choice but to walk Max there, and I have to say, I do everything in my power to avoid the drop-off/pick-up times because people (especially parents coming to pick-up/drop-off their kids) are *awful*. Anything that reduces speeding should stay.
