This High Court judgment confirms what @humanists.uk has long known: faith-based admissions in state schools can result in 'indirect race discrimination'. The government has a duty to fix this. The admissions system should be fair for everyone, not entrench segregation.

There's got to be a story behind each of these recommendations. And my bet each story is corrupt or insane or insanely corrupt or corruptly insane.

Not an expert in the field but I suspect teachers and schools already KNOW which students are struggling with reading. What they need are solutions. Such as funding for libraries with librarians.

Keir Starmer's aides are reportedly telling him not to go to the COP30 climate conference, because Reform would attack him for it. Yes, they might. And he should wear it as a badge of honour. Standing up for humanity, for science and a habitable planet. Where's the hazard in that?
