I’ve missed what happened since yesterday when it first started, so I can’t comment on details, but there’s just no way Yochai deserved whatever was said that led him to leave here. I don't normally post about scene drama, because at this point in my life, I just can't bring myself to give enough of a shit. But that people got (so!) mad at Yochai for linking to a Questing Beast review of his adventure — inspired by his Jewish heritage no less — is some fucking weak sauce.

I have republished Yochai’s OSR feed, which I was the co-moderator of. Should be working exactly as it was before.

You can’t stop bad people who share nominally similar interests to you from existing online. You can however make it harder to find good spaces by making it miserable for decent people to do community work on popular websites.

Yochai was the first person ever to share one of my blog posts. It was a huge early confidence boost & I owe him a debt of gratitude. He does a hell of a lot for this hobby community & I think he deserved a lot better.

Between Two Cairns is one of the best TTRPG podcasts on the Internet and both of those people have contributed more to the TTRPG/osr space than I have. They deserve a couple of my dollars, at the very least.

Yochai Gal does more community building and work to make the scene inclusive than just about anybody. We should do better

I remember being in OSR spaces online when that meant sharing those spaces with ZS. I was reluctant to share my own work. It sucked. The blossoming of OSR creativity since then has been incredible. Yochai is largely responsible for creating spaces that have helped usher that in.
