When RPGs Become Literature: From Planescape Torment to Thousand Year Old Vampire When people envision role-playing games, they probably envision the stereotypical contents: dungeons with monsters and loot tables, game masters describing fantastical fables to others, and long campaigns driven by dice rolls in hunting maps. However, like theatre and film, the world of role-playing games is not monolithic.
