Been thinking on the use of GenAi for mood boards. Ethics and legal risks aside, I truly believe using GenAi as references deprives one of many pivotal things. Here’s a blurb on what I mean:

I saw the GenAI creep in the studios I worked for this year. Everything from the initial concept art phase to finished assets. This is why teams who care about human work is going to be so important to the future of our industry.

I feel like Deltarune's mixing of are styles, particularly in chapters 3 and 4 doesn't get enough credit. Like take one good look at Tenna, a Donkey Kong Country style 2d sprite made from rasterizing a 3d model, or the mode 7 towers in the climax of chapter 4. It's a beautiful way to show unreality.

I don't see enough people talking about the math of Silksong's HP system enough. Yeah there's a lot of two damage attacks, but you heal for three. This means you're never going to be on an even pattern for healing. The Odd numbered heals get you two mistakes, evens only get you one. That's neat.

So the thing that gets me about the Silksong difficulty discourse that bugs me, is the lack of acceptance. The game is hard. We also have access to people who have been through those struggles and can offer help.

You know part of the problem with ghost stories as just "a thing" is that it's usually some mansion or large plantation home, and the reason it's haunted is "someone died with unfinished business or tragically here". So only wealthy home owners get to cheat death and be ghosts?
