Just finished the ‘recent’ adaptation of Why Didn’t They Ask Evans? and enjoyed it for the most part. Written & directed by Hugh Laurie no less. Can’t help but think the leads would have been perfect for Tommy & Tuppence though!

Fascists like to use symbols that both evoke previous fascist projects but also have a wider history. This allows them some plausible deniability as they can appeal directly to their fellow fascists whilst normies treat it as innocuous.

Decided to revisit Herk Hervey’s 1962 psychological horror Carnival of Souls. Although it can be a little ponderous at times there’s some fantastic tricks in it, and an escalating dread that makes it well worth watching. And that poster is just terrific!

This year I’m looking forward to exploring the history of Nigel Stillman’s classic game of Warhammer naval combat: Man O’War! These Bretonnian Corsairs are some of the finest on the seas!

Started the weekend with a dark fantasy fable! The Navigator: A Medieval Odyssey was a fascinating feature, one that apparently secured writer/director Vincent Ward the Alien 3 job. That monks-in-space project didn’t work out, but Navigator still stands as a notable success in its own right.

Thinking of Taskmaster: Champion of Champions, I wonder if there’s a plan to eventually make a The Traitors: Traitors Return season. All former Traitors brought back for a fresh game.

Just revisited a couple of X-Files episodes in my S7 rewatch, one amazing, one appalling. X-Cops is a remarkable work: lean, smart, innovative, and an utterly unexpected crossover with COPS. Timeless First Person Shooter meanwhile remained an utter cringe fest & possibly worst episode of the show
