This was a labor of love requiring lots of teamwork over years, repeating in 3 locations! Thanks to all the lab over the years, giving their time generously to this team project, & our wonderful collaborators. The source of fat matters for anti-tumor immunity 🐄🐖🧈🌴🫒🥥

This study shows that animal-based high-fat diets accelerate tumour growth and impair anti-tumour response to melanoma in obese mice, whereas plant-based high-fat diets do not.

Our paper

shows certain lipids are responsible for the immunosupression of ascites & propose blocking lipid uptake thru SCARB1 may help immunotherapy in ovarian cancer. Wonderful to collaborate with Donal Brennan, Marcia Haigis & super postdoc

Researchers led by Ludwig Princeton’s

report that certain fats in ascites fluid—which accumulates as ovarian cancer spreads from the ovaries into the abdomen—sabotage anti-tumor immune responses and show how this effect might be blocked for immunotherapy.

First measles death in Texas. Unfortunately, not surprising. Number of cases likely to increase and we may see more deaths. A tragic, preventable death of a school aged child. But the outbreak is called "not so unusual" by RFK. Simply not true. This is both unusual AND preventable.
