This is a great resource from Sociedad Biblia. They are making simple language Bibles that are accessible to people with intellectual disability. They limit the vocab and simplify sentences. They have translated parables, and are now translating the gospel of Luke, Acts, and OT stories.

NEW: White House says the arrest and deportation of student activist & legal US resident, Mahmoud Khalil, is a blueprint for more. The final line here is chilling. The White House specifically says Khalil was not breaking the law. No evidence, no due process, no crime. He was just disappeared.

Finally got around to watching the new Bonhoeffer movie. Its vision of Bonhoeffer reminds me of the guy who said he was glad Bonhoeffer did not let his theology impede his work (quoted in Haynes). They tried really hard to portray him as a theologian who thinks theology is useless times of crisis

Elon Musk and DOGE are now publicly targeting Lutheran groups for cuts. Among those listed: Global Refuge (formerly LIRS), one of 6 faith-based groups that have long helped the govt resettle refugees. Not clear why Musk contends this funding, which is longstanding and well known, is "illegal."

Really grim stuff. And the humanities (incl religion & theology) at the sharp end of huge cuts. Horrible for staff. This is the sector of the economy the Chancellor was rightly boasting of days ago. Time to save it if you value it.
