Unless the AfD is treated as an unstoppable giant this isn’t really surprising. Potsdam and Frankfurt are among the few urban centers in the east with sociodemographics less receptive to the party. Velten & Glienicke/Nordbahn are part of Berlin’s "Speckgürtel" and likewise not major AfD strongholds.
