Another undefeated FNM, this time with Historic Tempo. Stole the list from INF, but added two Thoughtseize over Ponder #4 and Fatal Push #3. It's a fun little spin on tempo, though it does sometimes struggle to hit lands drops (probably why you want 4x Ponder, lol) cc: @fireshoes.bsky.social

We played ten matches of premodern, each swapping decks, and never overlapped archetypes. 20 unique decks and we could've hit another 20 easy Premodern is so cool

I think the big gap with Oops is how surface level it is similar to Belcher, so it gets a surface level pass, but in practice its not remotely the same experience. It's much closer to asking "What if every Epic Storm combo line was a 4 mana instant kill"

What stings the most about today’s B&R is the dissonance between March’s “legacy looks balanced but we know people aren’t happy so we’re changing things” to today’s “legacy looks balanced so no changes.” I had hopes we would continue to improve the format, now we’re stuck with this until 2026.

3-1 FNM with UB Tomb. Taken from Yukke on MTGO, you use Ancient Tomb G1 for Barrowgoyf/Stock Up and have the option to transform into Ub Omni Postboard. The shell of Tomb/Goyf/Stock Up felt strong. Fair Tomb is a deckbuilding space to keep an eye on going forward imo @fireshoes.bsky.social

Late post, but undefeated at FNM last night with U Painter. Deck is SUPER strong, and much easier to pilot than R Painter. Would definitely recommend this going forward assuming no B/R changes @fireshoes.bsky.social

3-1 FNM with Ug Omni. Stock Up is cracked, and the deck is now legit playable. Chrome is b/c you want permanent fast mana to cast your broken draw spells, but the Petal is there to hedge drawing multiple Chromes. No idea if it's better than Sneak, but it's a blast to play @fireshoes.bsky.social

Generally speaking the higher synergy a Cube is, the more it benefits from a "true" draft pod, because that way each individual player gets access to a wider range of cards to build synergies from. Just playing sealed or "off the top" Type 4-esque stuff leaves A+B packages with too many A's OR B's.

But what if I present to you... No Bans (Controversial I know) The format is a rock-paper-scissors meta until something breaks it again. Entomb is fine. Reanimate can probably go but I won't lose sleep over it. I also think BnR talk is kinda boring. Can we just enjoy playing Legacy? #mtglegacy

The things that always draw me back to Legacy, relative to other formats, is that things can be so explosive that it takes so many crisp micro-decisions and intimate format/card knowledge to pull wins out of the blue. It's the format that makes me feel the most rewarded for doing my homework.
