The people who decided season-ending ties should be decided based on a hierarchy of tiebreakers rather than in an actual ballgame do not like baseball. Some of my best baseball memories involve Game 163, watching two teams who 6 months havenāt separated play just 9 more innings for everything.

the eight non-COVID MLB teams to make the playoffs with the worst regular season finish (last 28 games, six 11-17 teams, two 10-18 teams) have in the aggregate won more postseason series than they have lost. momentum is a thing until it isnāt.

Always been curious what % of Americans actually know that the major networks don't own the local affiliates and additionally are even aware of Grey, Tegna, Sinclair, and Nexstar? IMO, people have generally just not understood who exactly owns/controls local news.

Today's decision about ABS zones is MLB prioritizing their control over how we experience the game ahead of technical reality (no matter how much they tested in the minors). This will not factor into much, if any, coverage.

The ABS plan seems good, and it's been tested, and people who have watched a lot of it in the minors say it's not obtrusive, so I'm on board. But I've said from the start that people don't actually want 100% rulebook accuracy, they want their team to get all the calls.
