Been a slow start to my reading year, but I galloped through Claire Lynch’s A Family Matter. A lovely example of straightforward writing by the sentence leading to emotional profundity. Everyone is beautifully, and sympathetically, drawn, which makes the Bad Thing so much worse.

Please, *please* spend a lot of time doing a full public Republican investigation of a triumphant performance by the most charismatic human being on earth.
