What if Hexen was a girl? 💁🏻♀️ An on-and-off project of mine for the past few years, and focused on to release it [almost] in time for Hexen's 30th anniversary: and now complete! I redesigned and redrew the playable characters, and weapons that have visible hands.

Meanwhile, both of these have been posted to the in-game mod browser in Heretic+Hexen, which was the last major goal of the project, and really the only reason I got H+H. (It only took this long because it took some doing.) This feeling of actually completing a project. I could get used to it.

Seeing a bunch of streamers report that their Twitch accounts were compromised and that their payout methods were changed. (That's despite having 2FA on.) Linking a bunch of posts in the replies, but keep an eye on this!

For that matter, what if Heretic was a girl? 💁🏻♀️ (Or left-handed?) Although separate from my female Hexen project, they're of course related and part of a single overarching mission encompassing both: and now both are complete!

Porn and erotica are important and societally valuable forms of speech, and the defense of them, in the face of state and church attempts at repression, is a necessary political act.

I have always said it, I will continue to say it, we are limiting the productive potential of millions of freaks by demanding they earn a wage to survive instead of enabling them to do whatever thing their brain is broken for

they didn't need AI to make Silksong, it just needed some deeply insane guys to have a blank check for living expenses until their next thing was done, I think we should try doing more of that instead

The only thing less human than these AI dub performances is the decision to sign off on them A company this big can pay human actors a decent wage, not produce slop that intentionally removes the human element.

We did something different with the credits for Demonschool. We used this format: name, title, lengthy description of what they did. Often you see credits in games where you don't know what the credited developer was actually responsible for. We wanted to give people proper, actual credit.

Rebecca Heineman is a goddamn legend among women. She did SO much great stuff, from her impossible game ports, to tirelessly keeping the mac gaming scene alive, to making sure that the Kinect works when you're wearing a skirt, to making the worst version of DOOM kinda glorious in its own way.

Happy Birthday, Final Fantasy IX! Released in North America 25 years ago today on November 14th, 2000! A return to the high fantasy of older Final Fantasy games, giving us some of the most beloved characters in the franchise and, uh, an infamous PlayOnline guide book, aha. Much love for FF9. 💜

I've been working on my Hexen female character project to get it done in time for the game's 30th anniversary on October 30. [checks calendar] Anyhow, I've been redrawing the weapons where you can see your character's hands, so they have women's hands instead. 💁🏻♀️ Finally done with this part, for now.

The ZDoom line isn't just another Doom port — it is THE Doom port, to which all others are compared and found wanting. After years under a brilliant but oppressive leader, it finally stands on its own and I look forward to seeing it flourish.

Not only that, but originally referred to weaving, as of cloth; same root as "textile" and "texture". The original technology was women's work. 💁🏻♀️ And weaving was a precursor to… computers! Wires woven to hold memory; punch-cards that guided looms could also hold data. Women's work indeed.

Your daily reminder that language is a technology. Chopsticks are technology. Technology literally means “the practical application of knowledge.” We occlude a lot of cool things by limiting the idea of technology Silicon Valley.

A lot of comments on Mars rovers or Moon landings, but it's important to remember that the planet NASA studies most is Earth. This is less about cutting flashy things like moonwalks and more about keeping communities in the dark on climate, weather, agriculture, pollution, natural hazards, and more.

wplace protip: If you want people to help out with something you're working on, they need to know WHAT to draw. So, solid colors or an obvious pattern: a stranger with pixels to spare can just jump in and go. Otherwise you need to provide a reference.

lrt THIS IS WHAT I KEEP SAYING TO PEOPLE, YOU DONT HAVE TO MAKE THE BEST THING THAT'S EVER EXISTED, YOU JUST HAVE TO MAKE. you will make it better than a computer. you will probably make it better than a large part of other humans, too, but even if you don't, you Have to Make It! quoth the Man Ever:

My main effort in wplace lately has been helping erase
this big AI-generated pinup piece
, which has become a sort of shrine against AI. More human effort has been put into erasing this AI art than it took to make it; and more human connections made along the way.
