Pretentious wolf noises: Had the privilege of listening to Bo Burnham's Inside on vinyl tonight. There's something wonderful about having to take the physical ritual effort to listen to a piece, where a primary thesis is the insincere ephemerality of our modern culture and what it's doing to us.

As we went to the same school, it shouldn't surprise me that
@edzitron.com
and I overlapped at Games Workshop too, don't know why that came as a bigger surprise. Still weird that we went to the same school though.

This kingfisher took absolutely everything out of me — 23.5 hours of work! As one of my favorite birds, I just had to capture its stunning turquoise plumage in wool.

Keep hearing devs say that they only use ai for "pre-concept art" There is no pre-concept art. There is concept art. That's where the idea starts. With the concept. You're using ai for concept art.

I enjoyed it. It was quite darkly roasted, almost tasted like coffee before it gave way to some fruityness, and the toasted rice flavour.

Gotta love disability taxes. Since I can't go outside, glasses people are going to charge me an extra 30 quid for the test, plus 30 quid extra on the glasses for delivery and adjustment in home.

First finished book of the year is a re-read of Children of memory by
@aptshadow.bsky.social
. It continues to be one of my favourite series, and I'm very hyped for Children of Strife. Wish I could make it to a book event, but since I still can't go outside that seems unlikley. Fucking agoraphobia.

GOOD NEWS! Researchers have shown Alzheimer’s disease can be REVERSED- not just prevented. Using a potent neuroprotective compound called P7C3-A20, they found RESTORING balance to a central cellular energy molecule (NAD+) not only PREVENTED disease features but REVERSED them, EVEN at late stages.

So, just to confirm, the BBC can’t keep Robin Ince on the air because his trans allyship brings the organisation into disrepute, but they can keep David Walliams, who performed Nazi salutes at the recording of this very show, on the air despite him being predatory towards women. Cool. Very normal.

With Hogwarts Legacy being free on Epic: We know from the Epic lawsuit that they pay upfront for free games, and the number of redemptions is what they use to determine the value for money on them The fewer people claim it, the more Epic paid for each copy, the more it hurts the HP brand

Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.
