These genAI and LLM projects and campaigns aren't about art. They're about selling something to consumers. Consumers who do NOT want the product from companies who NEED to sell it because they made a bad investment and they're fucking panicking.

And shit like this? Shit like this proves that you don't know the difference either. People getting mad about "AI" is about a VERY SPECIFIC ISSUE. And it's that major corporations, like Amazon who you sold your soul to, are working right now to blur the line between AI the tool and AI the product.

People have talked the argument "everyone uses it" into the ground because yeah. No, not "everyone" uses it. The thing is, though, the general public doesn't know the difference between LLM and genAI and proprietary tools that many companies developed and implemented into their workflow years ago.

I've worked at the 'big' studios. While I'm on the writing and showrunning side, none of my projects have used AI in their process. I feel confident about my designers, directors, and story artists doing the same. These folks are convincing themselves 'everyone is doing it'.

This. I understand the need for compassion and understanding, and there are times when it’s appropriate. But I’ve been guilty of showing grace to people who were happily taking advantage of me, in the hopes that just believing in their goodness would be enough. Some people use that kindness.

This is why, 4 years into AI bullshit, I'm not willing to believe people tripped and fell onto their keyboard and used it by accident. This is a deliberate choice at this point, it's not "oooo what a fun toy" we are WAY past that.
