“The Price of Parenthood: Childcare Costs and Fertility”, which is @abigaildow.bsky.social’s excellent JMP is a really interesting look at the link between childcare and birthrates

Excited for this paper to be out! Mothers’ work schedules matter for child and family wellbeing, but we know little about how these have changed over time. We find that while, on average, rates of mothers' nonstandard schedules have been stable over time, trends vary substantially across subgroups.
