Yes it's actually good that we have fMRI to know this, because men's parental bond has been understudied & essentialist narratives continue to insist that only women have "maternal instinct." Showing how the male brain responds to infant stimuli helps us appreciate human adaptations to fatherhood!

A few months ago I posted about cuts to medical research & got lots of comments (on the other site) about how the deficit was too big + we needed to spend less. Now we're spending billions on ICE + a potential war. Money flows only when we are terrorizing people at home or bombing them abroad.

The Iraq War cost over a TRILLION dollars. Imagine if - 20 years ago - we had invested that money into early childhood education, or climate mitigation, or scientific and medical research, or building housing? Where would our country be now?

This post is incredibly revealing of how Trump thinks. He's apparently fine with terrorizing and dehumanizing immigrants, but when it starts to affect his wealthy friends, it's a problem. At least there's no hypocrisy here: the goal of Trump's admin has always been to serve his wealthy friends.

Ironic: The GOP loves states' rights when it comes to issues like abortion, education, guns, and voting. But they HATE it when states try to enforce their own climate and immigration policies. Basically, states' rights are only for red states.

I've been running an informal experiment for the last few months: posting the same things here & also on X. I have about 2x the followers here, but engagement is 50:1 in favor of Bluesky. I suspect the X algorithm suppresses anyone critical of MAGA. (It can't possibly be my pithy & astute posts!)
