It’s a disastrous day for democracy. The Voting Rights Act made the U.S. an actually functioning democracy. And civil rights activists face impossible odds to gifting it to us. The Supreme Court‘s decision is vile.

The Voting Rights Act is essentially dead and it’s quite possible that we will, like when a similar SCOTUS gutted civil rights at the fall of Reconstruction, see a disappearance of much of the Black congressional representation, especially in the most heavily Black states, which are in the South.

Well, this is a bit of a plot twist.

Yesterday, those who teach Intro to Sociology at Florida colleges (as opposed to universities) received a ready-made curriculum from the state and were ordered to teach it. Yes, you read that correctly. The *state* is enforcing a curriculum on college profs, complete w/ the following restrictions:
