I might, were I to be especially generous, accept the notion that people were hoodwinked. Credulous media, the toxic ecosystem of social media, their moronic peers. Sure. However, to be so disastrously easy a mark is a dire moral failing of its own kind.

For Canada, simply lowering domestic and int’l trade barriers to safeguard Canada is last-century thinking. Canadian economic policy needs to focus first on ensuring stability. Only then can you worry about efficiency. This requires increased governance capacity and cross-country governance reform.

Hard to believe that in what used to be one of world’s most prestigious newspapers, neither the NYT writers nor editors appear to know what the not-so-obscure acronym NATO stands for. (Hint: it’s *not* the below) BTW, a whopper like this probably would get you fired from a college paper in Ireland.

Fully endorse. Further, if Wealthsimple wants to offer gambling services, and if Canada is dumb enough to to let prediction markets into the country, then it should be forced out of banking. Choose a lane: fintech or online gambling site. 🎁
