This stuff drives me nuts. Kevin Durant is not a basketball team. He’s one of five people on the court at a time. Three teams since 2023, different coaches, different teammates, different opponents.

Plenty of Warriors fans know how to talk about Kerr with fair praise and criticism. And there are some fans who rage on Kerr with actual hate and obsession and I wonder, if Kerr leaves, where does that vitriol go next? That vitriol doesn’t disappear when the “problem” leaves, it finds a new target.

If Kerr is gone after this season and knew it long ago, I understand why he wanted to keep that quiet. If this was Kerr’s Last Season!, it would be about him. He doesn’t want that. Every time he’d roll into a new city, the media would ask so they could get their fresh, localized quote.

Here’s what I’m stuck on. If Kerr doesn’t “know what’s going to happen next”…is it really his decision? Did he state uncertainty because he was careful being mic’ed up? Or does he really not know yet because it is his decision and he needs to cool off from the season ending? Or…is he gone?

At this juncture of Steph’s career, under contract for one more season, I imagine he’d like to play for Kerr instead of figuring out a new coach in the twilight.

Kerr sad he was open to playing a 10 or 11 man rotation. He went with eight players in the first half.

I’m not sure if Steve Kerr has decided yet if he wants to come back next season, and he’s waiting for an off-season exhale to figure out his heart. I think he’s coming back, to close a chapter with Steph and Draymond together as long as the Dubs have them. His decision though.
