Just after 2:00 p.m., on the west front, the police - bloodied, battered, and overwhelmed - blasted this message, ordering people to leave. The Capitol was breached minutes later.

There's a persistent myth that the cops "let people in." It's nonsense. There's extensive evidence that rioters knew they were breaking the law. Here's one of the rioters making a call, knowing that she might need to be bailed out of jail.

As violence against police escalated on the west front of the Capitol, some of the rioters appeared to take pleasure and even laugh.

On his very first day back in the White House, Trump pardoned a bunch of criminals who stormed our Capitol and beat the crap out of cops. At least 33 of those violent felons have committed new crimes since then, including child sexual assault, rape, kidnapping…[1/2]
