Over 300 detainees at Delaney Hall signed an S.O.S. letter about the horrid conditions they are facing: rotten food, lack of medical attention, and so much more. Yesterday we went to inspect Delaney and that letter is correct. The solution is closing Delaney and abolishing ICE.

All the partisan gerrymandering was always (in part) racial gerrymandering, because the parties' politics were always (in partābut large part) about race. So when you tell Southern legislatures "you can do partisan gerrymandering, but no racial gerrymandering," they know it means they can do both.

It's the exact reason we got the VRA! We got the VRA _not_ because there was always provable sneaky intentional racial discrimination in districting, but because, esp. in the South, white conservatives designed a party system AND maps through which they'd win the seats, & Black voters would not.
