When I got home I found that someone had roughly cut branches off our trees on the other side from my house, and left the branches on the ground in my yard. Apparently a new home owner of the falling down house next door. My landlord is going to come by and drag the branches into their yard.

Here is Franklin, with his BFF Alice, on the day we adopted them both. My little guy survived living on the streets of San Francisco for a significant length of time and a vicious raccoon attack in our yard when he was about 8. He’s a huge derp, and one of my favorite beings in the whole world.

High drama in the family chat today: apparently half a dozen cows wandered several miles down from West Pawlet, picked up a stray bull along the way, and were having a social visit with the goats this morning.

Speaking of dogs, I've been spending my evenings helping care for those who have needed extra care, including one who came to us starved, emaciated and infested with ticks to the point of severely anemic. I carry him out to potty because he doesn't understand leashes and is scared of dogs.

If any of you remember my beloved Earmuff, I think this dog is related to her (they came from the same rural area, have the same stubby tail, same facial features, color and temperament) and probably I am mad because he reminds me so much of her & my grief over letting her go.

I am so mad and I want to shout at another volunteer who is trying to push a dog who isn't comfortable around people into a home and whom I found yesterday forcing a relationship he didn't want when he was already upset because we had moved his kennel space. He's frightened of people ffs.

I met with two batches of smart people today, and one of them accidentally made me feel very stupid and the other was such a joy and I could have batted ideas around with them all day.

Someone left a crate with 12 puppies of varying ages under a few months old in APA parking lot today, and didn't tell anyone. So when I swung by to take care of a few critical care dogs on my way home, I ended up learning how to make gruel for tiny babies, and made sure everyone was warm and dry.

Poppy is just wondering where her bagel is please. No need for a plate. Toasting optional.

I walked dogs for five hours in the heat and humidity and may not walk again and want to sleep but am being held hostage by my cat.

I hate asking for help again, but I’m dealing with an unexpected medical issue - a rapidly growing goiter my doctor is concerned may be serious, right as I’m making a big job/housing decision. I made a GFM for medical follow-up + runway while I figure out the next step. Would so appreciate shares.
