just paid $5.60/gal for super (what my SUV takes). we almost never drive it so it was the first time I’ve bought gas for it since January and was quite a shock. only got 4 gallons. I didn’t mind paying $5.60 because I know the extra $2+ is for freedom.

it is a lovely and temperate spring in Austin, Texas. I’m not ignorant or willfully naive enough to believe it means we’re remotely ‘back to normal’. but I also know it’s okay, even good, to live in the moment and enjoy it for what it is.
