Something I brought up when I first hit my stride here on bsky is that 1 follower here is the equivalent of 2-3 on twitter The reason is pretty obvious when you think about how Twitter numbers are inflated by unengaged bots. They make your number look big but they'll never support you

I was SO excited when I hit 1k on Twitter and as it turned out, maybe eight of those people actively liked, commented, or RTed what I did. The majority were blank accounts, 'giveaway' accounts, bots, or abandoned. Big numbers are cool! But a proper following and mutual respect is better.
