A lucky man who made the grade
In the early 90s someone told me I didn't know the "real Rockapella" if I was only familiar with their Carmen Sandiego-related work

in a democratic republic (and really in all times and places) the slavish hunger to be in the thrall of a strongman or a king is the ultimate moral degeneracy.

It's the stupidity and the evil working in harmony that throws people off. It's like how light has properties of being both a wave and a particle.

They’re trying to treat this like a NFL call, as if what’s at dispute was whether the ball touched the ground or if it was a completed pass, rather than what we all saw, some masked goon choosing to execute someone in broad daylight

My theory on why society got so much worse after COVID was that 2020 marked the point where normal people did the majority of their social interaction online and when they went out into the real world in 2021, all those anti-social impulses were now a part of their real world personality.

The last four words are also important here. The USAID cuts should primarily be seen as a eugenicist project. Elon Musk and the far right, generally, believe that foreign aid is a part of the Great Replacement.

I REMEMBER THIS SHOW. He works at a piano bar in Washington DC. In the first episode a scandal-plagued Congressman (think Epstein Files) is drunk and rowdy so Dudley plays the Supremes' "Baby Love" to shame him

The way to understand the second Trump administration is as a content generation machine. They aren’t implementing fascism, they’re creating fascism-flavored content. They aren’t implementing real policy, they’re signing executive orders to post about them. Anything that gets attention is the goal.
