We know how to fix this chronic problem. Narrower lanes, safer speeds, better driver education, automated enforcement, and complete streets. But we need financial prioritization of safety for those outside of vehicles. When pedestrians and cyclists are safe, everyone on the road is safe.

This Sunday is World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. A leading cause of preventable death. A cause that is trending in the wrong direction. While 2025 is better than the record high last year (so far), it is far short of the State goals. 1 death is too many. MN is 33,300% past that.

We are calling on state leadership to ramp up enforcement that would prevent sales of these dangerous E-Motos. The laws we helped to pass are clear and strong. Removing class three e-bikes from being accessible to everyday Minnesotans is harmful and shortsighted.

What happened in Hastings was a preventable tragedy &no electric assist bikes (e-bikes) were involved. Thank you to KARE 11 for being the first media organization to actually delve into the fact that the vehicle that hit &harmed Janet Stotko was & is illegal to purchase &operate in Minnesota.
