This. Learning a skill, an art form, is not "free" time like you're on a yacht somewhere sunning yourself. It's dedicated, it's carved out, it's shaped by all the other things you experience and distilled into expression. It's fuckups and frustrations. It's time you shape into something else.

The idea of “gatekeeping art” is the reason people turn to AI because of it is funny to me as an artist from a working class family. Like…I learned to draw and my mom was a waitress I don’t like people trying to hide behind the idea working/poor folks can’t draw, because we create and always have

For @msnownews.bsky.social, I wrote an article about how ICE Watch is grounded in sociological theories of violence prevention. The reality is that most men will only commit public violence in extremely specific scenarios and ICE Watch disrupts the conditions necessary for escalation.

“ICE Watch works because it surrounds men seeking approval with people loudly expressing their disapproval.” This is visible in many of the videos. Thank you for explaining.
