Extra was the second of Little Miss's kittens from three weeks ago to pass away. Young kittens are so fragile; sick kittens more fragile still. Tabbi put in a lot of hours and care trying to keep them going. Perk, the void kitten, seems to be recovering. Moving around well, and nursing normally.

Finished audiobook for BETWEEN TWO RIVERS by Moudhy Al-Rashid @moudhy.bsky.social , exploring Mesopotamian history & society thru cuneiform inscriptions (often fragmentary) translated by Assyriologists like Al-Rashid. Her writing & narration make clear her deep love for the region's ancient history.

State of the Cats Update: Got Little Miss and her two surviving kittens to the vet today for the respiratory infections. Still a lot of street cat in Little Miss, so she was literally climbing the walls at the vet's once out of the carrier, had to be trapped and sedated for examination. 1/2
