Its crazy to me how readily other people watch movies. Someone tells me a movie is good and I’ll love it and I just never watch it. All my movie watching is either spontaneous and my titles found by chance or someone sits me down and puts it on for me.

I do think kids and teens need to spend less time online, in general. But I think the way to accomplish that is by making the offline world more safe, welcoming, and interesting for them. That means investing in after-school programs, third places, & walkable cities.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but listening to an audio book absolutely counts as “reading” a book. In fact, I’d argue that listening to an author read their own work aloud is an exceptionally magical and even holy experience. I love it so much. Especially as my eyesight gets worse.
