I love a Nolan movie, and Nolan stories tend to be great, but the Odyssey is the first time I thought the script itself was on par with the visuals. It delivered some absolutely face melting lines and its structure was graceful without giving up weight.

Also Polyphemus was a PUPPET?!?! Full sized?! Absolutely unhinged moviemaking. The Odyssey rules.

Christopher Nolan has officially become so good his own name is the IP that sells the movie. His work dwarfs Marvel these days. That is wild.

Here's my other Odyssey hot take: John Leguizamo continues to class up every movie he's in. The casting in this film, to a person, was incredible. I had to look up who played Agamemnon and was not ready for the answer.

The Odyssey was ridiculously cool and I was surprised and impressed by Tom Holland. The audio in Imax is so loud it's almost hard to take at times, but I like being a little overwhelmed at the movies. It looked like a FILM which is wonderful, you could see real people in real places. So good.
