Quick reminder: -fans (and wind gusts) don't lower the temperature of a room, they remove the layer of perspiration on your skin, therefore causing your body to sweat more and cool you down. Ie: careful about dehydration -it is indeed possible to die of heatstroke even out of direct sunlight (1/?)

chiming in to say heat exhaustion is no joke and to read this thread. yesterday it felt like 100F (37.7C) and i barely stepped outside/was sitting in AC/did everything "right" to protect myself. i still ended up with a fever and was overheating.

My take away: The way you interact with small groups of volunteers who are trying to do good things in the world *might* want to be different than how you interact with billionaires and governments. The first could be a conversation between real humans. Ideally with a bit of kindness and empathy.

Infinity Blade’s disappearance is a perfect example of the damage done to mobile gaming. It was in the vanguard of mobile’s rise. For a time it was *the* showcase of a potential, valuable new outlet for the medium. For it to be washed away in a sea of RAID trash is downright perverse.

True story: once, I was suuuuper underpaid to crunch for the release of a mobile game. I was one of two animators/artists on it. The publisher justified its practices by saying that having a shipped game will be good for our resumes. One year later, it was 100% gone from app stores without warning

I basically only use my ps5 for games I can borrow from the library. Otherwise I’ll just buy it for pc so I can play it on my steam deck. I even stream the ps5 games to my steam deck with chiaki. Console gaming has nothing to offer me otherwise.
