This is one of my favorite zines and dare I say essays on sexual assault in fiction and how survivors cope with what happened to them. Read it. You can flinch but sit in the discomfort. I thought this was a great post, an interesting new perspective on how we categorize RPGs and how they relate to each other. It's definitely applicable to more than just the OSR.

This recent essay by @snow117.bsky.social is one of the best I've read around the seemingly eternal "is the #OSR dead" conversation. Honestly, it puts into words things I've felt for a long time about how #TTRPG categorization has been (and should be) done.

Things I've learned in my 6 years as a professional TTRPG designer: 1. You can't be a critic and a creator. 2. Create a piece of media and *then* make a TTRPG about that. 3. Don't criticize creators bigger than you. 4. The bar for indie is actually much higher than you think.

alright. the first draft of the damned thing is done. 10k words. it's a mess right now. i think it might remain a mess for all time. idek how to release it. like, who's looking for 10k words on video games anymore?
